The different colours depend on the colour of the beads used and if the stand shows through the knitting. With some of the white dresses the pine stand dulls the knitting. The white stand make it look sparkling white. Some stands have names as they were designed for the special skirt to match the doll, although any stand can be used if the skirt sits nicely over the stand.
